The over-riding principles to be applied by HA (including its selectors) in selecting players to National Teams and squads to represent Australia are:
(a) to identify players who will achieve the best possible results at events in which HA competes; (b) to identify and give experience to players who have shown the potential to achieve the best possible results at such events in the near future.
